Vientiane - Phou Khao Kway - Ban Pako
Just outside of Laos' capital city lies a world of natural beauty, stunning vistas, and magnificent wildlife. For visitors to Vientiane, this three day tour is a great way to experience local culture and the diverse ecosystems of Laos.
Starting in Vientiane, travel the eco-friendly way on as you sight see on a local bicycle. The flat city and quiet backroads are ideal for pedaling amongst the sites. Visit serene temples such as Wat Sisaket, the bustling morning market, and Laos' most revered monument, That Luang.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at Mak Phet, where not only is the food fantastic, but also helps support a children's charity. Continue along the culinary trail to enjoy learning about local coffee. See how the world-renowned Lao beans are harvested, roasted, and brewed before sipping on a few samples.
A short drive away from the capital takes you to Phou Khao Kway National Park, an area rich in diversity of terrain and wildlife. Spend the day with a local village guide, seeking out the brilliant orchids that thrive in the park. Along the way, visit waterfalls, observe the wildlife, and enjoy the fresh, clean air.
Your overnight stay is at the Ban Pako Ecolodge, which sits upon the banks of the Nam Ngum river. Fall asleep to the sounds of the flowing water and awaken to chirping birds and monkeys who live in the surrounding forest.
